In a significant announcement during the Mahashivratri festivities, the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) revealed that the illustrious Kedarnath Dham's gates will be thrown open on May 2 at 7 a.m.
The plan includes worshipping Lord Bhairavnath on April 27, with Baba Kedar's Panch Mukhi Doli making its ceremonial departure from the Shri Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath to Kedarnath Dham on April 28. This decision was formally declared in the presence of esteemed figures such as Kedarnath Dham Rawal Bhimashankar Ling, MLA Asha Nautiyal, and BKTC CEO Vijay Prasad Thapliyal, amongst others.
Meanwhile, in Prayagraj, a wave of devotees is streaming into Triveni Sangam on the final day of the 2025 Maha Kumbh. This procession marks a culmination of numerous auspicious bathing rituals that began with the first Amrit Snan on January 13 and concluded on February 26, coincidentally aligning with Maha Shivratri. Celebrated as a triumph of light over darkness, Maha Shivaratri holds profound significance, commemorating Lord Shiva's marriage to Goddess Parvati, symbolizing a divine unity of power and love.
