Devotees across India marked Maha Shivratri by converging at various temples to offer prayers. In Uttarakhand, the Daksheswar Mahadev Temple in Haridwar experienced a substantial flow of worshippers seeking divine blessings.
In Uttar Pradesh, the Kameshwar Nath Mandir in Moradabad saw large crowds commemorating the sacred day. Meanwhile, Rameswaram witnessed devotees performing Jalabhishek, underscoring the day's spiritual resonance.
Significant numbers also descended upon the Shri Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga Mandir. Deoghar's Deputy Commissioner Vishal Sagar stressed, "Preparations are solid, ensuring safe darshan for all." A devotee shared, "Despite the overwhelming crowd, performing Jalabhishek fills us with joy."
At Prayagraj's Triveni Sangam, pilgrims flocked to participate in the closing of Mahakumbh. Foreign visitors joined the celebrations, visiting Varanasi's Kashi Vishwanath Temple, chanting 'Har Har Mahadev' and reciting the 'Shiv Tandav Stotram.'
This year's Mahashivaratri, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is expected to draw a million pilgrims, with events across every Shiva temple celebrating this significant lunar-solar calendar occasion. (ANI)
