In an ambitious initiative to tackle the growing traffic issues, Agartala has begun the construction of its first multi-level parking facility. This Rs 200 crore project, spearheaded by the Agartala Municipal Corporation under Mayor Dipak Kumar, promises to significantly alleviate parking challenges in the city.

The facility, the first of its kind in the northeastern region, will serve both as a parking solution and a commercial hub with an integrated shopping complex. Set to stand 11 stories tall, the development under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model is designed to accommodate over 400 vehicles, including provisions for approximately 80 cars and bikes in the front area alone.

Construction commenced on September 4, 2023, and aims to conclude by 2026, spanning approximately 37,800 square feet. Upon completion, it will mark a pivotal enhancement in Agartala's infrastructure, setting a precedent for similar endeavors in the region while contributing to economic growth and improved traffic flow.
