Uttarakhand CM Urges PM Modi's Support for Key State Projects

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made a significant courtesy call to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi, extending an invitation to the upcoming National Games in the state. During their meeting, Dhami presented a traditional Malari shawl and a replica of the Narayan Ashram as a gesture of respect and gratitude.
The Chief Minister expressed appreciation for Modi's leadership in driving the state's development initiatives. He highlighted the accelerated progress of the Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail project and advocated for the approval and financial backing of the Tanakpur Bageshwar rail project by the Central Government.
Dhami also emphasized the need for closing the outdated Rishikesh railway station to facilitate developmental work and proposed the use of the rail track land for improved road systems. Furthermore, he outlined the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission and appealed for the prompt release of central funds.
In terms of energy projects, Dhami updated the Prime Minister on a proposed MoU with the Iceland Embassy for geothermal energy exploitation, seeking technical and financial support for achieving carbon net zero by 2070.
Additionally, he urged for approval of various infrastructure projects, including bypasses in key locations like Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Dehradun, and requested federal assistance in these endeavors.
