In the wake of a contractor's suicide, Karnataka's Minister Priyank Kharge launched a staunch defense against the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) accusations. Kharge accused the BJP of diverting attention from the real issues by alleging state leadership failures without substantial evidence.

The BJP has been vocal in questioning the state government, demanding Minister Kharge's resignation. However, Kharge rebutted these allegations, asking rhetorically if he was even an accused in the case. He emphasized that the BJP appeared more intent on undermining Karnataka's administration than addressing the core issues.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah backed Kharge, denying any credible link between the minister and the contractor's death. He highlighted that despite BJP's vocal demands, there's no evidence implicating Kharge, and thus no need for his resignation. Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah accused the BJP of hypocrisy, pointing out their avoidance of CBI involvement in past cases.
