Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw is set to flag off three new train services from Guwahati railway station this Friday. Among the trains are the Guwahati-New Lakhimpur Janshatabdi Express, the New Bongaigaon-Guwahati Passenger Train, and the Tinsukia-Naharlagun Express.

The minister's visit also encompasses the launch of several initiatives designed to bolster connectivity and foster infrastructure growth in the region. A significant highlight will be the dedication of the Tetelia Road Over Bridge at Dispur, Guwahati, to the public.

Vaishnaw will virtually inaugurate the 10 KW FM Transmitter at Akashvani Kokrajhar. Previously operating with a 20-kilowatt Medium Wave transmitter since 1999, the introduction of the FM transmitter will extend its coverage to a 70-kilometer radius, enhancing receptivity for Kokrajhar and nearby districts.

Officials stated that this development ensures over 30 lakh residents across Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Bongaigaon, and Chirang access to superior FM broadcast quality. The minister will also oversee the virtual inauguration of the NIELIT Deemed to be University from the Railway Station and visit the Tata Semiconductor factory at Jagiroad.

Additionally, Vaishnaw plans to review ongoing Northeast Frontier Railway projects during his tour. The series of initiatives reflects a focused push towards augmenting the region's infrastructure and communication capabilities. (ANI)
