Gadkari Unveils Rs 12,500 Crore Plan to Transform Delhi's Transport

In a significant move towards transforming Delhi's transport infrastructure, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, revealed a Rs 12,500 crore initiative. The project aims to alleviate traffic congestion and curb pollution in the national capital, helping to streamline the city's chaotic transportation system.
Acknowledging the recommendations from leaders like H D Malhotra and others, Minister Gadkari disclosed additional funding of Rs 1,200 crore from the CRIF to prioritize these critical improvements. The measures are anticipated to ease pressure from vehicles entering Delhi, thus lessening traffic jams and reducing air pollution.
Key investments include Rs 2,500 crore for linking UER-II to the Delhi-Katra Expressway and Rs 2,200 crore to connect UER-II with the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. Moreover, a Rs 3,500 crore tunnel construction from Shiv Murti to Nelson Mandela Marg is planned to relieve congestion in key areas. Overall, the government plans to invest Rs 1 lakh crore over two years to revamp Delhi's infrastructure.
