In a significant move to boost state finances, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant held a pre-budget meeting with senior officials to chart out new revenue avenues. The meeting, attended by the chief secretary and heads of departments, was aimed at ensuring a balanced and forward-looking budget strategy.

Sawant emphasized the need for innovation as he addressed a press conference at Mantralaya in Porvorim. Departments have been directed to not only identify but also implement creative ways to enhance revenue. The meeting highlighted the critical issue of underutilization of allocated budgets and urged timely resource utilization to eliminate inefficiencies.

Significantly, all sectors have been instructed to monetize existing assets for greater self-sufficiency and revenue growth. Reforms in service processes are also on the agenda to elevate citizen satisfaction. The Chief Minister stressed the regular assessment of corporations and autonomous bodies to uphold their performance, relevance, and output, with a broader goal to build a more self-reliant Goa under the BJP government.
