India's Push for Advanced Anti-Drone Ammunition Manufacturing
The Indian government has released a Request for Information (RFI) to manufacture 23-mm anti-drone ammunition. This initiative aims to bolster the Army's air defense by identifying vendors to produce this ammunition locally under the 'Make in India' initiative. The ammunition is designed to work with existing Army weapon systems.

The Indian government has announced the issuance of a Request for Information (RFI) aimed at developing 23-mm anti-drone ammunition through the country's industry. This move is set to enhance the Army's air defense mechanisms, providing a boost to their existing capabilities.
Planned for use with the already deployed 'Zu 23mm and Schilka Weapon System,' this ammunition will address the growing challenge of low radar cross-section drones. Such unmanned systems pose a significant threat due to their small size, high survivability, and lower costs.
The Ministry of Defence is targeting both public and private vendors under the 'Make in India' initiative for the manufacturing process. By issuing this RFI, the government seeks to identify suitable vendors to undertake the production task and modernize air defense strategies.
