In a landmark decision, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde declared on Thursday that 4,800 hectares of land previously held by the state will be returned to farmers. Describing the decision as historic, Shinde emphasized that this move benefits the farming community significantly. The announcement followed a state cabinet meeting in Mumbai.
Earlier, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis revealed plans to enhance security across the Mantralaya premises, Maharashtra's state secretariat, by implementing a pass system for all visitors. The initiative aims to ensure stringent security measures and safeguard government operations.
Fadnavis further disclosed plans to introduce unique ID systems for tracking work, akin to Aadhaar IDs, alongside initiating E-cabinet systems to facilitate the digital movement of official files. This shows Maharashtra's commitment to boosting efficiency and transparency within the government.
