Lionel Messi, the renowned Argentine soccer star, has expanded his ventures to the Spanish market with the debut of Edificio Rostower Socimi, a real estate investment trust. Valued at 223 million euros, this move signifies a significant milestone for Messi's family investment vehicle, Limecu Espana 2010, which is the trust's sole shareholder.
Documents from the Portfolio Stock Exchange, where the trust made its debut, reveal Messi's pivotal role as the chairman of the board, while his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, serves as vice-president. With assets including hotels, offices, and apartments in Spain, Andorra, London, and Paris, plans are underway to attract new investors, offering a unique investment opportunity.
The Portfolio Stock Exchange allows trading only when companies seek to sell shares or raise capital, offering flexibility, control, and cost-effective alternatives to traditional IPOs. Spain's government considers raising corporate tax rates for real estate trusts, though parliamentary support remains elusive. As Messi's fund ventures into the European real estate arena, its performance will be closely watched.
