Congress MP Pramod Tiwari reiterated on Tuesday that Rahul Gandhi's recent trip to Vietnam was a pre-planned event, as controversy surrounds the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Tiwari remarked that millions had observed Gandhi's emotional reaction to the passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Reacting to the situation, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla criticized Gandhi's timing, accusing him of vacationing during a national mourning period, arguing that it disrespects Singh, whom Gandhi considered a paternal figure. Poonawalla stated, "The country mourns while the LoP is seen partying, making 'Leader of Partying' a fitting moniker."

Responding to BJP's attacks, Congress leader Manickam Tagore dismissed them as mere diversion tactics, citing the Modi government's alleged disrespect towards Singh in the past. He questioned the BJP's objection to Gandhi traveling privately, emphasizing that the focus should remain on national issues.
