In a scathing attack, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shehzad Poonawalla has labeled the Aam Aadmi Party's National Convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, and his party as 'the biggest fraud' over the recent Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana initiative. Poonawalla's accusations stem from claims that AAP failed to fulfill wage promises to religious leaders.
Citing Delhi government's Right to Information records, Poonawalla notes AAP's unfulfilled commitments to maulvis and imams since January 2021. He accused the party of neglecting the needs of granthis and pujaris, exploiting their voter base for political gain. Poonawalla challenged AAP's delay in implementing supportive policies, attributing it to the upcoming elections.
On the other hand, Arvind Kejriwal recently inaugurated the financial aid scheme at the Margahat Baba Temple, promising a monthly honorarium to religious leaders in Delhi. Meanwhile, a different controversy unfolds over Kejriwal's comments about Delhi's interim Chief Minister Atishi, prompting a stern letter from Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena expressing disdain over the derogatory remarks.
