Dr Rajib Ghosh, a prominent figure at the Horticulture Research Center in Agartala, has been vocal about the groundbreaking impact of True Potato Seed (TPS) on agriculture. In light of the challenges posed by traditional potato farming methods, TPS offers a promising alternative.

In conventional potato cultivation, the requirement of approximately 2 metric tons of seed potatoes per hectare poses significant logistical and expense challenges, especially in hilly regions. TPS revolutionizes this process, needing only 100 grams of seeds for the same area, effectively circumventing transportation issues and cost barriers.

The method has been championed by experts in Tripura, where it is grown under government-supported projects. SPS seeds boast higher yields and pest resistance, attributes driving demand both locally and internationally. Tripura's favorable climate complements this innovation, making it a hub for TPS production and drawing attention from global scientists eager to emulate its success.
