Power Grid Corporation Acquires Key Rajasthan Transmission Project
State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India has acquired the Rajasthan IV 4A Power Transmission Ltd project SPV. This project will establish a major transmission system in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. It was acquired for approximately Rs 18.37 crore, with the transaction finalized in late 2024.

State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India on Monday finalized the acquisition of a special purpose vehicle, Rajasthan IV 4A Power Transmission Ltd (RIV4APTL). The strategic acquisition is aimed at enhancing power transmission capabilities in the regions of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
The project is officially incorporated to establish a transmission system essential for the evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV, Part-4, with a capacity of 3.5 GW. It will be executed on a build, own, operate, and transfer basis, as facilitated by the Bid Process Coordinator, REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd.
The comprehensive project entails the development of a 765/400kV sub-station near Ghiror in Uttar Pradesh, and extensive transmission lines traversing both Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. It also includes upgrades and bay extensions at several substations. The acquisition, valued at around Rs 18.37 crore, includes equity shares and is effective as of December 30, 2024.
