Rajnath Singh Pays Homage at Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar Temple
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh visited the Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Ujjain, performing traditional rituals along with Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi. The visit emphasized the temple's spiritual significance, as Singh prayed for the nation's well-being. Previously, Union Minister Giriraj Singh attended the temple's renowned Bhasma Aarti.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Ujjain on Monday, where he visited the revered Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple. Accompanying him was General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of Army Staff. Both dignitaries donned traditional dhoti and sola attire to participate in the esteemed rituals observed at the temple.
The ceremony, led by head priest Ghanshyam Guru and Ashish Guru, saw Singh and Dwivedi performing special puja and abhishek puja. Following this, the attendees gathered at Nandi Hall to offer prayers to Lord Shiva. The priest recited mantras along with a Shanti Paath to invoke peace.
In a subsequent post on social media platform X, Rajnath Singh reflected on his spiritual experience, expressing his prayers for the happiness and well-being of his compatriots. Meanwhile, Union Minister Giriraj Singh, who visited the temple a day before, partook in the Bhasma Aarti, a mystical morning rite at the Mahakaleshwar temple, which is one of the 12 esteemed Jyotirlingas in India.
