Thrikkakara Congress MLA Uma Thomas is on a slow but hopeful path to recovery following severe injuries suffered during a fall at a public event, said Kerala Minister P. Rajeeve. The MLA's vital signs are stable, but she continues to require ventilator support due to serious lung injuries.

Questions regarding the event's organization have arisen, prompting Law Minister Rajeeve to assure a detailed investigation into potential negligence by the organizers. Accompanying Thomas at the event, Cultural Affairs Minister Saji Cheriyan criticized the lack of necessary safety measures. A barricade should have been present at the edge of the stage, the minister asserted.

With a CT scan confirming there is no worsening of Thomas's head injury, a medical team is closely monitoring her condition, prioritizing lung treatment. Meanwhile, Kochi police have registered a case for alleged safety oversights in event management, as Congress leaders decry the lapses leading to the serious incident.
