The Indian Auto LPG Coalition (IAC) is urging the government and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to embrace auto LPG as a 'net zero hero'. This cleaner, more economically viable fuel could become pivotal in the journey toward a cleaner energy landscape in the automotive sector.
With LPG Week 2024 approaching, hosted by the World Liquid Gas Association (WLGA) in Cape Town, the focus will be on the benefits of auto LPG. Suyash Gupta, Director General of IAC, describes it as a key player in reducing air pollution and addressing public health concerns due to its lower CO₂ and particulate emissions compared to traditional fuels.
Despite these advantages, India's auto LPG market remains undeveloped in comparison to the global stage, where over 27 million vehicles run on it. Gupta emphasizes the need for policy incentives to boost adoption and support India's environmental and economic goals.
