India has achieved a significant milestone in military advancements with the successful flight-tests of the guided Pinaka weapon system. These trials form part of a series of validation measures assessing the system's ranging, accuracy, consistency, and rate of fire, as stated by the Defence Ministry.
During the tests, twelve rockets from each production agency, using upgraded launchers, were evaluated at diverse field firing ranges. This initiative demonstrated the indigenous capabilities of India's defence research institutions and critical partnerships with domestic production agencies.
The precision-guided system designed by the Armament Research and Development Establishment, alongside other DRDO research bodies, promises to elevate the Indian Armed Forces' artillery firepower significantly. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commended the teams for completing these crucial trials successfully.
