Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya marked a significant milestone as he attended the 60th-anniversary celebrations of Sainik School Goalpara on Tuesday. The event, held at the school premises, celebrated six decades of educational excellence and national service.
In his address, Governor Acharya acclaimed the institution as a cornerstone of national values since its inception in 1964, credited to the vision of former Defence Minister VK Krishna Menon. He commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his contributions to reinforcing India's defense capabilities.
The Governor praised the dedicated teaching staff and acknowledged the achievements of the school's alumni in various fields, highlighting their role in upholding the institution's legacy. He expressed optimism about the school's future, envisioning it as a continuing beacon of hope for future generations. His visit also included an inspection of Dighali Village, where he noted positive developments.
