In Greater Noida, local authorities recently arrested Rahul Chaudhary for operating an illegal indoor cultivation facility for OG plants, police disclosed on Tuesday. These plants are known for being the source of weed.
The joint operation, orchestrated by the Narcotics Cell along with units Ecotech-1 and Beta, led to the arrest of Chaudhary in the Panorama Society. Law enforcement officers confiscated 80 plants, 2 kilograms of ganja, and several types of pesticides from the site, informed DCP Greater Noida Saad Miya Khan.
The suspect allegedly imported seeds via the internet and maintained ideal growing conditions, including AC-controlled temperatures and artificial indoor lighting mimicking sunlight. Each plant, valued between Rs 5,000-7,000, required 100 to 110 days to mature. Chaudhary is suspected of selling 10 to 20 plants on the dark web, with an estimated worth exceeding Rs 50 lakh.
