In a significant development, three women from Bangladesh were detained at Agartala Railway Station on suspicion of illegal entry into India. The Government Railway Police (GRP) officially confirmed the arrests on Monday, identifying the women as Hasna Hena, 26, from Satkhira, Kulsum Begum, 22, from Narail, and Swapna Akter, 19, from Chattogram.
Authorities, including the GRP, Border Security Force (BSF), and Railway Protection Force (RPF), carried out the coordinated operation that led to the women's detention at the station. Female officers are currently interrogating the detainees at the Agartala GRP station as investigations continue. Officials believe more arrests could be imminent in connection to this case.
A formal case has been lodged at the Agartala GRP Station. The detained women are scheduled to present themselves in court on Tuesday as legal procedures advance. The incident underscores ongoing efforts to address unlawful cross-border activities.
