An unprecedented level of safety measures is being enacted for the Mahakumbh 2025, a spiritual congregation anticipated to draw millions to Uttar Pradesh. The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is orchestrating a robust security framework to guard the devotees who will swarm Prayagraj from across the country and beyond.
In a first-of-its-kind deployment, 220 expert deep-sea divers from both the National and State Disaster Response Forces will monitor the waters at Sangam. They will remain on high alert around the clock, aided by a substantial fleet of 700 boats, ensuring comprehensive safety during the revered bathing rituals.
Amid these efforts, extensive support is being drawn from various regions, including elite Water Police personnel from Goa, Kolkata, and Maharashtra. Furthermore, local expertise is being harnessed, with local navigators skilled in traversing the river depths without equipment playing a crucial role. Additional reinforcements include 10 PAC companies, 12 NDRF teams, and 6 SDRF units, all working together to manage potential emergencies effectively.
