Insurance companies must write policy terms in straightforward, easily comprehensible language to minimize customer grievances, an IRDA advisory committee member recommended on Monday.

Pushpa Girimaji, a member of IRDA's Insurance Ombudsman Advisory Committee, highlighted the pressing need to cut down 'non-entertainable complaints' handled by the insurance ombudsman.

During the insurance ombudsman's foundation day event, Girimaji underscored the necessity for fairness in processing customers' insurance claims.
