In a significant ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, Justice Sanjiv Khanna was officially sworn in as the 51st Chief Justice of India. The oath of office was administered by President Droupadi Murmu. Justice Khanna's inauguration was witnessed by key political figures including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several cabinet members.
Notably, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, was among the early well-wishers. In a message shared on X, Kharge expressed confidence in justice Khanna's ability to carry the responsibilities that come with the position, citing his extensive and distinguished experience in the judiciary.
