In a collaborative effort, the Mumbai Crime Branch and Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) successfully apprehended the primary shooter involved in the Baba Siddique murder case, alongside four other suspects, in Nanpara, Bahraich, UP. The primary accused, Shiva Kumar, was reportedly captured while attempting to flee to Nepal.

The operation, executed by a team of six officers and 15 personnel, also led to the arrest of Anurag Kashyap, Gyan Prakash Tripathi, Akash Srivastava, and Akhileshendra Pratap Singh. These individuals allegedly aided Shiva Kumar's attempted escape and provided him with shelter and support for his planned flight to Nepal.

According to the Uttar Pradesh STF, the accused confessed that the murder was orchestrated by the infamous gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, currently imprisoned. The shooters claimed to have received logistical support from Shubham Lonkar and Mohammad Yaseen Akhtar, facilitating the execution of the crime.

Shiva Kumar further disclosed communications with Lawrence Bishnoi's younger brother, Anmol, via a social media application. He revealed promises of substantial financial rewards post-murder, including monthly remuneration. Weapons and communication gear were provided by Lonkar and Akhtar for the execution of the crime.

The shooters, armed with new SIMs and phones, conducted surveillance on Baba Siddique for days. The execution occurred on the night of October 12, 2024, when Siddique, aged 66, was assassinated in Mumbai's Bandra area by three gunmen.
