During a roadshow for the United Democratic Front's Wayanad Lok Sabha byelection candidate Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Vaduvanchal, a clash occurred between Congress workers and CRPF personnel. The altercation arose at the rally's conclusion when some workers, gathered around her vehicle, refused to vacate the road, prompting a minor scuffle as the CRPF attempted to clear the way.
Earlier, Priyanka Gandhi made a commitment to the Christian community, promising to advocate for their demands alongside others. She expressed gratitude for the warm reception during her campaign and assured her intent to fight for everyone's rights. "I will discuss and understand their issues and support them," she stated.
On Saturday, Congress leader Sachin Pilot foresees a "historic victory" for Priyanka Gandhi in Wayanad, suggesting that her leadership, alongside Rahul Gandhi, will challenge the BJP and NDA. Pilot emphasized the unity and positivity within the Congress and UDF, predicting a significant win by more than five lakh votes. The Wayanad by-election, prompted by Rahul Gandhi vacating the seat, will see Priyanka contest against BJP's Navya Haridas and Left alliance's Sathyan Mokeri.
