In a significant breakthrough, Punjab police have apprehended two crucial operatives linked to Canada-based gangster Arshdeep Singh Dalla for their alleged involvement in the murder of Sikh activist Gurpreet Singh Hari Nau in Faridkot district last month. An official revealed on Sunday that the arrested individuals were also responsible for the murder of Jaswant Singh Gill in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The directive for the crime allegedly came from Dalla himself.

The Director General of Police, Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, stated on social media platform X that the State Special Operation Cell of Mohali, in collaboration with the Anti-Gangster Task Force and Faridkot Police, executed the arrest. The two suspects were detained near Kharar, effectively averting another prospective target killing in the state. During their capture, two sophisticated weapons were confiscated, and investigations continue.

Jaswant Singh Gill, the victim in Gwalior, was serving life imprisonment due to a 2016 murder case and was on parole for Diwali when he was ambushed. CCTV footage revealed the brutal killing by two bike-borne assailants. Concurrently, Punjab Police detained operatives of another gang linked to Portugal-based Manpreet Singh and US-based criminals. Firearms including a 9mm Glock pistol and other sophisticated weapons were recovered from them, marking a strategic success in combating illegal arms smuggling.
