The Rohini Court in Delhi has rejected a bail plea for Jaiveer alias Jassu, accused of cheating Rs 62 lakh from a complainant under the guise of negotiating the sale of 16 acres of agricultural land. The decision, driven by the seriousness of the charges and his status as an absconder, was rendered by Additional Sessions Judge Sushil Kumar.
The court noted that there had been no recovery of the defrauded sum so far, and highlighted that Jaiveer was declared an absconder in April 2024 after evading arrest. An FIR was lodged in Prashant Vihar in 2022, accusing Jaiveer of fraudulent dealings related to the land sale, including taking advance payments from another individual without informing the complainant.
The investigation revealed that Jaiveer attempted to sell the disputed property to neighbors, though this was halted due to a judicial stay. Further complicating matters, the accused is implicated in another FIR in Haryana over a land deal that allegedly led to a suicide. Despite his counsel's claim of false implication, the court found the charges substantial enough to deny bail.
