Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated the 'Run for Unity' marathon on Thursday to mark Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary in Kurukshetra. The event was part of nationwide celebrations honoring the enduring legacy of Patel, often remembered as the Iron Man for his decisive role in unifying India post-independence.

Addressing the media, CM Saini highlighted the unity of participants across various demographics, including children, women, and the elderly. The marathon served as a tribute to Patel, with Saini emphasizing the significance of the Statue of Unity, a towering 182-meter homage in Gujarat, commissioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to honor the nation's first Home Minister.

Further extending festive greetings, Saini wished citizens well for Diwali, Chhath, and Haryana Diwas. Meanwhile, in New Delhi, President Droupadi Murmu paid floral tributes to Patel, urging citizens to draw inspiration from his principles for nation-building. Similarly, PM Modi commemorated the occasion at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, partaking in a Unity Day Parade.
