Himachal Launches First Digital Library, Transforming Educational Access

In a significant technological leap, Himachal Pradesh's Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the state's inaugural digital library in Bilaspur. Seen as a transformative step for educational access, the library is set to offer essential amenities with a seating capacity for 40 individuals, boasting a collection of approximately 2,500 books.

Echoing modernity, the library promises offline access to NCERT and CBSE curriculum books and resources for college students and competitive exams. CM Sukhu asserts it is equipped with the latest technology, offering free reading materials via touch-screen devices and social media platforms. RFID technology furthering smart management and mandatory ID scanning for entry streamlines operations.

Enhancing the academic atmosphere, the library includes an expansive reading hall, e-library, and computers. Security is underscored with CCTV cameras. Students voiced their gratitude for this seamless blend of technology and civic benefits, appreciating the enriched and enjoyable learning experience. Furthermore, a new Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau was unveiled in Bilaspur, new construction worth Rs 1.67 crore.
