The official notification, issued under Article 224 of the Constitution, stated that these judicial officers' appointments are based on their seniority from the date they assume office. Notably, the appointment includes P. Krishna Kumar, who was recommended for elevation in October 2023 and again in October 2024 by the Supreme Court Collegium.
This decision follows a series of recommendations made by the Supreme Court Collegium and supported by the Kerala High Court's Chief Justice, alongside the state's Chief Minister and Governor. The Collegium's consultation with senior judges underscores the importance of maintaining judicial integrity and competence in the High Court.
