A tram crashed into a store in central Oslo on Tuesday, injuring the driver and at least three other people, Norwegian police reported. Emergency teams responded swiftly, offering immediate care to those injured, whose conditions appear non-life-threatening. Around 20 passengers were on board at the crash time.
Witness images depict a blue tram embedded in a computer store at the base of a four-story structure in downtown Oslo. Demolition worker Thomas Larsen, 41, described narrowly avoiding involvement, stating, "Three seconds later, I would have been under it." The incident has raised concerns about city tram safety.
The crash sparked a significant response, leading to area evacuation and a structural assessment of the impacted building. A spokesperson for tram operator Sporveien confirmed that specialists will conduct thorough on-site investigations to ascertain the crash's cause.
