He detailed the five pillars of the health policy, which focus on citizens' well-being, asserting that a healthier population accelerates national progress.
The Prime Minister used the occasion to extend festive greetings for Dhanteras and Diwali, emphasizing the symbolic importance of health during these celebrations. He remarked on the spread of Ayurvedic principles worldwide, marking a cultural milestone with over 150 countries observing Ayurveda Diwas.
Significantly, Modi announced that the government will cover medical expenses up to Rs 5 lakh for disadvantaged citizens under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which has already benefited approximately 4 crore individuals. He further unveiled projects worth Rs 12,850 crore to bolster the health sector on the 9th Ayurveda Day.
