In a resounding plea for peace, National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Friday denounced the ongoing wave of terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing the perpetrators, he urged an end to violence and a pivot towards friendship. Abdullah expressed frustration over the protracted cycle of violence, stating, "This will keep going on in the state and it won't stop until we find a proper solution for this. We all know from where it comes."
Anguished by the loss of innocent lives, Abdullah extended his condolences to the bereaved families, saying, "I apologize to the family of those who lost their lives and those who were injured." His comments came amidst a backdrop of increased violence, with security forces enhancing operations in Baramulla following a violent encounter between the Indian Army and terrorists, which resulted in casualties.
Tragically, the firefight in Baramulla claimed the lives of two Indian Army soldiers and two local porters, while others sustained injuries, necessitating urgent medical attention. The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army confirmed the ongoing operation, as tensions remain high. Meanwhile, in another incident, a labourer from Uttar Pradesh was shot and injured in Pulwama's Batgund Tral area, adding to the week's grim toll.
