JSW Energy Sees Marginal Profit Rise Amid Renewable Growth

JSW Energy reported a slight increase in consolidated net profit, reaching Rs 853 crore for the September 2024 quarter, compared to Rs 850 crore the previous year. The firm's revenue also saw a 2% boost year-on-year.
The quarter's net generation hit 9,840 million units, marking a 14% increase due to wind capacity additions and elevated generation from thermal and hydro plants. The company's long-term sales rose by 9%, while short-term sales surged by 68%.
JSW Energy expanded its renewable energy footprint by commissioning 204 MW of wind capacity, with year-to-date additions totaling 495 MW. New power purchase agreements were secured for 3.8 GW of renewable energy projects, with overall renewable generation rising 14% to 5 billion units.
