A sixth-grade student from a private school in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district has gone missing after being sent home over unpaid fees, a police official reported on Thursday.

The incident occurred on Wednesday under the jurisdiction of Beohari police station. The student, studying at a school in Beohari town, was dismissed due to several months of outstanding fees.

Upon realizing her child hadn't arrived home, the student's mother visited the school, learning that her son had been sent home earlier that day. After a fruitless local search, she filed a missing person report with the police, triggering an official investigation to locate the child.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Abhishek Diwan confirmed that the school had repeatedly asked the family to settle the unpaid fees. The police have launched a case and are actively searching for the missing student.

The child's mother, Asha Chaturvedi, explained that her husband's absence due to work as a laborer in Mumbai contributed to the financial delay, despite her requests for extended payment time. She immediately involved police when her son failed to return home, leading to the ongoing search.
