During the 'Chanakya Defence Dialogue' in New Delhi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted a breakthrough in India-China relations concerning their border issues in Ladakh. Singh announced that a broad consensus had been reached to restore the ground situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) based on equal and mutual security concepts.

This consensus, achieved through diplomatic and military talks, aims to resolve long-standing differences in specific areas along the LAC, allowing for traditional activities such as patrolling and grazing. 'Continuous dialogue fosters solutions,' Singh noted, emphasizing the power of sustained engagement.

Furthermore, Singh elaborated on India's vision of self-reliance in the defense sector, which has broader economic implications, including boosting income, job creation, manufacturing, research, and supply chain resilience. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the importance of peace on the border in his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the BRICS Summit, stating that the India-China relationship is crucial for global peace and stability.
