As Cyclone Dana approaches, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized the state's goal of zero casualties, highlighting extensive government measures to ensure public safety. More than 300,000 residents have been evacuated, alongside over 2,300 pregnant women, with 7,000 cyclone shelters set up throughout the region.
Police forces and medical personnel have been deployed to assist in evacuation efforts, and power backups are in place at district hospitals. NDRF and ODRAF teams have also been dispatched to affected areas. Ministers are actively monitoring the situation across the ten districts most at risk, ensuring comprehensive oversight.
Odisha's Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo assured the public of the government's preparedness, stating that all departments are operational and ready to address any challenges posed by Cyclone Dana. Meanwhile, residents are encouraged to seek safety in cyclone shelters where all necessary arrangements are in place.
