BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari has launched a stinging critique against the Congress-led Karnataka government in the wake of a deadly building collapse in Bengaluru, decrying what he describes as severe corruption. He argued that the unauthorised construction in the city reflects a broader trend of neglect under the current administration.
Bhandari accused state leaders including Siddaramaiah and D.K. Shivakumar of prioritising personal gain over public safety, highlighting the loss of innocent lives as evidence of governance failure. He further implied that such incidents are tantamount to murder and demanded accountability, pressing for government responsibility to be shouldered by senior figures.
The backlash follows the recovery of five bodies and several injuries after the collapse of an under-construction building exacerbated by heavy rains. Authorities continue to search for survivors with National and State Disaster Response teams deployed at the site, while criticism of the government intensifies.
