In the wake of a brutal terrorist attack in Ganderbal, where a doctor and six non-local workers were killed, social media buzzed with claims that non-local laborers were being pressured to exit the region. However, the Kashmir Zone Police has categorically refuted these allegations, emphasizing their commitment to safeguarding individuals' security in Jammu and Kashmir.

Via a post on X, the police clarified, "Social media reports claiming the local administration has asked non-local workers to leave the valley are false. The Jammu and Kashmir Police is committed to ensuring security and fostering a safe environment for all individuals." They urged citizens to pursue their livelihoods uninhibited by fear while dismissing false information circulating online.

Earlier, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah paid a visit to the bereaved family of Dr. Shahnawaz Dar, one of the victims, to convey his condolences. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary met with the family of another victim, Shashi Bhushan Abrol, promising government support and resolute opposition against terrorism.

Choudhary stated, "I met the father of the man, and I expressed my condolences... CM Omar Abdullah sent us here, so you can understand how hurt he is by this attack. The government would never want its people to be killed like this." He vowed to communicate the family's needs to the Chief Minister, underlining the government's stance on combating terrorism.

Additionally, a team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) inspected the Ganderbal construction site where the attack occurred, reflecting ongoing efforts to bolster regional security.
