In a significant development in the investigation of the recent blast outside the CRPF School in Prashant Vihar, Delhi Police have acquired all the CCTV DVRs from the surrounding and front market areas. According to sources, footage reveals a suspect at the scene wearing a white T-shirt on the night before the explosion.
Delhi Police sources indicate that the explosive was concealed in a polythene bag and buried in a half to one-foot-deep pit, which was subsequently covered with debris. The blast, which occurred on a Sunday morning, resulted in damage to nearby vehicles and properties, although no injuries were reported.
Following a preliminary investigation, police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) under multiple sections, including the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act and the Indian Explosives Act. The FIR mentions damage to the school's boundary wall and surrounding window panes due to the explosion's impact. A white powder was discovered near the site, prompting immediate action from various investigation teams, including the crime team of Rohini District and the National Security Guard.
The CRPF School serves children from families of CRPF and other paramilitary forces. In light of this incident, Delhi is on high alert, with increased security measures implemented in marketplaces as Diwali approaches.
