Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday marked the inauguration of the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital in Varanasi, a significant addition to his parliamentary constituency, joined by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This facility aims to provide extensive consultations and treatments for diverse ocular maladies.

Continuing his tour of Varanasi, PM Modi is slated to lay the foundation for an array of development projects totaling an estimated Rs 6,100 crore, according to Kaushal Raj Sharma, the Divisional Commissioner of Varanasi. The Prime Minister will initiate groundwork for 23 ambitious undertakings in the city.

Reflecting his commitment to world-class sports amenities, PM Modi will inaugurate Phases 2 and 3 of Varanasi Sports Complex's redevelopment, valued over Rs 210 crore. This venture, part of the 'Khelo India' initiative and Smart City Mission, aims to establish a cutting-edge facility featuring a National Centre of Excellence, player accommodations, sports science hub, various practice fields, indoor shooting ranges, and combat sports arenas.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister will lay foundational stones for new civil enclaves at Agra, Darbhanga, and Bagdogra airports, with investments exceeding Rs 570 crore, Rs 910 crore, and Rs 1,550 crore respectively. He will also unveil new terminals at Rewa, Maa Mahamaya in Ambikapur, and Sarsawa airports, collectively priced at over Rs 220 crore, enhancing passenger capacity beyond 23 million annually. Designs of these airports draw inspiration from regional heritage elements, as per official release.
