A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the National Disaster Relief Force arrived at the site of an early morning explosion outside the CRPF school in Prashant Vihar, Rohini, New Delhi. The incident has been placed under investigation by the Delhi Police, who were joined by National Security Guard commandoes in their probe.
Efforts to determine the cause of the blast are ongoing, with no conclusive findings reported yet. According to Delhi Police PRO Sanjay Tyagi, authorities, including the Special Cell and forensic experts, are collaborating to get to the bottom of the incident. Tyagi highlighted the presence of broken windows and a foul smell, as observed by investigating officers.
The blast, suspected to involve a crude bomb, caused no injuries but resulted in damage to nearby shop windows and a parked car. The area remains cordoned off as security is heightened across Delhi, especially with Diwali approaching. In the political aftermath, Chief Minister Atishi accused the BJP-led central government of neglecting the city's law and order responsibilities, comparing the current atmosphere to the Mumbai underworld of the 1990s.
