Crackdown on Crime: Jalandhar Police Arrests Key Gang Members

In a significant breakthrough against organized crime, Jalandhar Commissionerate Police arrested five prominent members of the notorious Bambiha-Kaushal Gang on Sunday. Alongside the arrests, authorities confiscated nine illegal firearms and 15 cartridges, allegedly smuggled from Madhya Pradesh. This decisive action has reportedly thwarted potential attacks on three individuals, according to an official from Punjab police.

The apprehended individuals are accused of involvement in various serious crimes, including extortion, murder, and arms trafficking across Punjab's districts. Officials emphasize that ongoing investigations aim to expose the gang's extensive network and dismantle its operations by establishing backward and forward links.

In a related development, a joint operation between the Border Security Force and Punjab Police on Thursday led to the discovery of a heroin packet in Gurdaspur district, along with an Oppo smartphone and a Hero Splendor motorcycle. Furthermore, in a separate incident, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), allegedly delivered by a drone, was recovered near the India-Pakistan border in Punjab's Fazilka district.
