The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a petition alleging COVID-19 vaccines cause side-effects, including blood clotting. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, along with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, refused the plea, criticizing it as an attempt to create unwarranted alarm.

In questioning the merit of the petition, the court emphasized the potential consequences if the vaccines were not administered, stressing the sensational nature of the claims. The bench questioned the validity and purpose behind such a plea, highlighting public health priorities.

During proceedings, the petitioner's lawyer admitted to having taken the vaccine and reported no side effects, further weakening the argument. The plea, presented by Priya Mishra and others, challenged the purported adverse effects of COVID-19 vaccines.
