The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) of Himachal Pradesh's agriculture department has introduced a support price of Rs 3,000 per quintal for maize cultivated through natural farming techniques.

Tapinder Gupta, Project Director of ATMA in Bilaspur, stated on Sunday that the agency would purchase this maize to boost natural farming efforts in the region. The initiative targets encouraging sustainable agricultural practices.

Gupta highlighted that 6,438 farmers in Bilaspur district have adopted natural farming, with 5,505 of them registered on the Sitara portal. The procurement process will start on October 25 at the designated site in collaboration with the HP State Civil Supply Corporation Limited Department.
