Delhi's Tourism Minister and AAP leader, Saurabh Bharadwaj, inaugurated the Heritage Walk Festival on Thursday—an initiative by the Delhi Tourism Department. The festival, which starts at the historic Mutiny Memorial, Kamla Nehru Ridge, will run until December 31, drawing both local and international interest towards Delhi's rich heritage.

An official release stated that participants will have the opportunity to visit 100 historical sites across the capital. Like previous iterations, the event is designed to showcase Delhi's longstanding heritage, branding the city as a major tourist destination. The Heritage Walk Festival marvels at sites like the Mutiny Memorial, a structure initially built by the British but now stands as a testament to India's fight for independence.

Minister Bharadwaj engaged with journalists, emphasizing the undiscovered heritage gems in Delhi and the importance of educating the younger generation about such historical treasures. 'The Delhi Tourism Department's goal is to make Delhi an irresistible attraction, not just within the country but worldwide, appealing to tourists from near and far,' he remarked. Bharadwaj added that preserving and sharing the stories of these heritage sites with the public remains paramount to the department's mission.

Continuing a tradition under Arvind Kejriwal's leadership, this year's 80-day festival strives to reveal the hidden histories of these sites, often unknown to the youth. The Tourism Department aims to ignite interest in Delhi's overlooked historical narrative, encouraging preservation for future generations. Public participation is encouraged, with affordable ticket prices set for the festival, granting everyone access to experience Delhi's abundant legacy firsthand.
