Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan paid heartfelt tribute to the esteemed industrialist Ratan Tata on Thursday, drawing comparisons to the 'Navratnas' of India. Tata, Chairman Emeritus of Tata Sons, passed away in Mumbai on Wednesday night at the age of 86.

'Tata is truly one of the Navratnas of our nation,' Pradhan stated, recalling his personal interactions with Tata as moments of warmth and simplicity. He emphasized the significant void left by Tata's passing, acknowledging the importance of his insights and values in India's development trajectory.

Joining the chorus of condolences, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey highlighted Tata's deep connections to Jharkhand, where he aspired to expand industrial footprints with a new steel plant. Tata's passing was marked by significant public mourning, with his body laid for public homage at the NCPA lawns in Mumbai before the final rites at Worli Crematorium, attended by several dignitaries.

The government and numerous citizens conveyed their respects, with the Gujarat authorities declaring a day of mourning. The national flag was flown at half-mast to honor Tata, who was born on December 28, 1937, and led major philanthropic trusts and the Tata Group for decades. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2008 for his immense contributions to the nation.
