The West Bengal Junior Doctors' Front took a strong stance on Thursday against the state government's indifference by addressing a letter to Chief Secretary Manoj Pant. The doctors expressed their frustration at the lack of response to their demands until after enduring a 96-hour hunger strike. The letter implores the government to regularly update them on previously raised issues and hold itself accountable.

In their communication, they highlighted prior ignored emails from September that had gone unanswered. This neglect heightened their discontent over government transparency and commitment. During a recent meeting, the doctors were left unsatisfied as no new information was provided, only verbal updates on already publicly available details.

Demanding a status report every week, the junior doctors emphasized their right to be informed about progress. They pointed out the lack of updates in the 23 days following their last meeting and called for an immediate security audit. This comes amid the resignation of approximately 50 senior doctors at RG Kar Medical College in support of a hunger strike, sparked by the shocking rape and murder of a trainee doctor.
